Film educates viewers on workplace Violence 2012-07-03 |
When it comes to educating employees in various industries about the potential dangers of workplace violence, sometimes hearing a story about real-life events can make a big difference.
In one recent effort, a new documentary, Murder by Proxy: How America Went Postal, seeks to give added insight into how the workplace became more violent over the years. The chilling film features interviews with those who have witnessed tragic events first-hand. The film also features workplace violence experts, who are able to tell viewers what sorts of signs to look for when trying to prevent a situation from taking place. "'At times graphic, Murder by Proxy isn’t your typical 'popcorn and soft drink' type of movie," Emil Chiaberi, the film's director, said in an interview with Benefits news. "I think the film clearly shows that these incidents are the result of certain conditions that make people feel dehumanized and oppressed.”
In some cases, volatile domestic situations can seep into a worksite. It's best to handle these issues as professionally as possible and stop a situation before it spirals out of control.
