Laboratory Safety
Practicing lab safety means that before you do an experiment, demonstration or activity employees must:
- KNOW the hazards.
- KNOW the worst things that could happen.
- KNOW what to do and how to do it if they should happen.
- KNOW and use the prudent practices, protective facilities, and protective equipment needed to minimize the risks.
Laboratory personnel face specific hazards because their workplace contains glass, lasers, UV and Xrays, and other equipment reserved for science, pharmaceutical manufacturing and diagnosis.
