  • Lockout / Tagout
  • Supervisor Safety
  • Winter Driving

Support Material Descriptions by Item:
The Training Network offers a variety of training support items. Some are designed to aid the trainer or manager, and many others help reinforce the training concepts to trainees/ employees. Safety kits contain multiple support items, as well a video. To help you understand what each type of material is when you read in a product description, several common items are defined below.

Attendance Sheets
Another term for Log. See below.
Certificates Delivered by the trainer after employees have successfully completed a training requirement.
Compliance Manuals Delivered on hardcopy, floppy disk or CD (as specified in the detailed product descriptions), these manuals list the OSHA regulations in detail.
Employee Handbooks or Booklets Usually in the form of printed documents – and not reproducible due to copyright laws unless duplication is specified as permissible – these items are given to employees for reference when needed. For example, an employee may need to confirm something done or not done months after training, or he/she may need to brush up on his/her knowledge prior to a promotion.
Leader’s Guides Usually printed materials that help an instructor bring key points from a video or kit to the training audience. Many contain questions to check for understanding and/or retention. Also, answers to common questions that trainees might ask during a class are provided.
Log Many OSHA requirements state that organizations must document when each employee has been trained on an OSHA regulation. A log is a document to track participation and completion.
Posters These are hung in work areas to help remind employees of safety and workplace rules and best practices.
PowerPoint® These are prepared presentations in Microsoft® PowerPoint® for use as a key element of the training course. Reproduction on hardcopy as an employee handout is generally permitted.
Program Planners Delivered on hardcopy, floppy disk or CD (as specified in the detailed product descriptions), the OSHA regulation is provided in detail. Plus, compliance requirements, any specific industry guidelines, sample policies that can be customized as needed, reproducible forms, and some have overhead transparent slides and employee handouts. Usually licensed for a single trainer/safety manager.
Quizzes Printed material that can be reproduced on demand that questions employees about knowledge on training content presented and is considered documented proof by OSHA that training has been accomplished.
Recordkeeping
Forms Hardcopy or electronic versions of forms required by OSHA for incident and accident reports.
Other Other materials that are available within kits from some producers. Includes checklists, evaluation forms, vendor lists.

For all items except Program Planners, PowerPoint® and Recordkeeping, locate them by searching for the topic or title in which you are interested. Then scroll through the descriptions to discover what the part number offers in the way of support materials.

For Program Planners, PowerPoint® and Recordkeeping, enter the word or phrase into the search function to find these product descriptions. Or, as always, search by topic or title.
