Welding and Cutting Safety

The OSHA Standard for welding is 1910.252 to 1910.255. The specialty of welding requires employees to pay particular attention to fire safety and atmospheric conditions in their welding environment. Furthermore, employees using equipment like compressed gas cylinders must be trained in their safe use.

There a numerous types of welding processes such as arc welding, oxygen/acetylene welding, MIG welding and TIG welding.   Each type of weldiing carries different risks and injury hazards for the welder.
